I’m all in favor of bounties for individuals ferreting out fraud and corruption, and having the guts to come forward. I am not, however, a fan of outrageous, lottery-winner like payments like this one: $104 million by the IRS. The kicker (as if $104 million wasn’t enough): the snitch himself got 31 months in federal prison for his role in the tax evasion scheme.
That’s your IRS at work, ladies and gentlemen. $104 million!!!! Indeed, the IRS’ position is wholly unconvincing.
